I have just spotted an article that list the Top 50 driving distractions for car drivers.
Reading through the list is like reading a tick list for what driverless cars need to achieve to make their cars successful.
1. People who drive towards you with full beam on in the dark – Not a driverless car problem
2. Heavy rain – Could still be an issue for a driverless car
3. Getting lost – Not a driverless car problem
4. Obstructions / debris in the road – Could still be an issue for a driverless car
5. Kids arguing in the back – If only driverless cars could resolve this!!
6. Back seat drivers – If only driverless cars could resolve this!!
7. A warning light/weird sound – Could still be an issue for a driverless car
8. Trying to follow the Sat Nav – Not a driverless car problem
9. Kids fighting – If only driverless cars could resolve this!!
10. A bug or spider that has gotten into the car – If only driverless cars could resolve this!!
